What is READ AND RESCUE, and why am I so excited to help? And more importantly, why is she wearing a cape?

 

 

As an animal lover and former employee of the local humane society (and foster mom for kitties from time-to-time), I wanted to do more for homeless animals and their plight.

I always knew that when my first novel got published, I would bookmark a portion of proceeds to my favorite humane society, and I have. The fact that TAMING THE STALLION is set in a fictitious animal shelter only made the desire to do so that much stronger. Over the last few book signings I have done, I have noticed that mentioning how a portion of proceeds will go to Lollypop Farm (lollypop.org) made people feel good about their purchase, knowing they were getting to help a good cause. This observation sparked my idea to start this group. I realized I couldn't be alone in the desire to help animal shelters.

READ AND RESCUE is populated by published authors who have a desire to help raise funds for a non-profit rescue group of their choosing. Whatever the author's passion may be-- whether it's wild mustangs, birds of prey, dolphins, or the high turnover of domestic pets-- that person, like me, can help by doing what we love to do best, and that is write.

 

Any author who expresses a desire to join will be added to this website, along with links to the book(s) that he/she designates as a fundraiser toward that chosen cause.

 

Readers can shop directly from this site, knowing they will have a great story, as well as the chance to help animals in distress.
